We have identified 13 species tracked by the 2003 or 2007 Wyoming Natural Diversity Database (WYNDD) lists within the Pinyon Peak
Highlands (Keinath et al. 2003, Heidel 2007). Six of these were not previously known to the Bridger-Teton National Forest.
The floristic inventory uncovered three Teton County records, which will be published in the near future with Teton County records from Grand Teton National Park.
Only one species, Cirsium arvense, from the Wyoming Noxious Weed list was collected. This species is well established in the Pinyon Peak Highlands and
some efforts of control have been initiated within the Teton Wilderness (Jim Ozenberger pers. com. 2005). Teton County designated weeds were not
encountered during the survey, though several introduced species were collected.
