Ecological Applications of Stable Isotopes Grant (2008-2009). National Science Foundation EPSCoR Program in Ecology, University of Wyoming. Awarded for research using novel applications of stable isotopes to trace the fate of autochthonous carbon through the base of stream food webs.

NABS General Endowment Fund President’s Award (2008). North American Benthological Society. Awarded to support any area of graduate research in the aquatic sciences.

Mentor to Graduate Student Fellows, Science Teacher Education Program (2008). National Science Foundation EPSCoR, University of Wyoming. Fellowship awarded to mentor graduate students paired with undergraduate science education majors who are asked to bring hands-on science into middle school and high school classrooms.

Haub Creative Grant (2007-2008). School of Environment and Natural Resources, University of Wyoming. Grant awarded to begin Ph.D. research exploring the utility of measuring 18O-O2 to calculate community metabolism in streams and rivers.

Graduate Student Mentor Fellowship, Science Teacher Education Program (2007). National Science Foundation EPSCoR, University of Wyoming. Fellowship awarded to support summer graduate research while allowing for an undergraduate science education major to experience laboratory and field research.

Dennis Jesperson Memorial Scholarship (2006). Wyoming Wildlife Federation. Awarded to honor a commitment to fisheries biology in Wyoming.

Graduate Teaching Fellowship (2005-2012). Department of Zoology and Physiology, University of Wyoming. Fellowship supporting MS and PhD graduate studies through teaching undergraduate biology courses.

Research Experience for Undergraduates (2003). National Science Foundation, Organization for Tropical Studies and University of Georgia. Summer stipend, travel and research costs awarded to support an independent undergraduate research project on nutrient limitation in tropical streams at La Selva Biological Station, Costa Rica.
